It was a real creative sprint, an exceptional marathon inspired by Hackathon formats, that was proposed last week to our Product Design students.

Coached for 24 hours (2 full days) by Jérémy Laurent, Product Designer within the Decathlon group and graduate of Rubika Design in 2009, the students immersed themselves in the world of outdoor cooking. They had to quickly understand the users, their needs, and their usage constraints, constraints imposed by a sometimes precarious environment (lack of space, access to different energies, etc.).

Beyond the constraints, the challenge was to identify the opportunities offered by this universe in terms of design: to be inventive in order to compensate for the lack of space, to develop the modularity of the proposed systems, to integrate resistance to environmental constraints, to integrate production issues... a challenge that our students met with flying colors!

They were thus able to implement an intense and controlled creative process, guided by a coach who enjoyed the exercise. Beyond the hard skills used (usage analysis, brainstorming, sketch, 3D...), it was also an opportunity for them to put their soft skills to the test and to live an unforgettable moment.

"During the 24 hours of creation, I developed a lot the notion of sharing. A real exchange took place in the class. We worked as a team and tried to bring out the best in each other. I really enjoyed this project because it reminded me of my camping vacations." - Marie Cordonnier, Product Design student.
